Welcome to Stay in touch, which aims to keep you informed with the latest news, events and information from Cornwall Council.

As the festive season edges ever closer, we’re supporting local businesses with free parking in the lead up to Christmas. City, town or parish councils have selected nominated days. Find out more about free parking in selected carparks across Cornwall.
More people in Cornwall are recycling and cutting down on the amount of rubbish they throw in the bin. Read the latest figures to  find out how well your community recycles and reduces waste, and how you compare to other places in Cornwall.
From April next year, you’ll be able to fly direct from Newquay to Heathrow. The move – part of a Public Service Obligation led by the Council – shifts the existing service from Gatwick to Heathrow and increases flights from three to four a day, boosting Cornwall’s access to global markets.
As the UK prepares to leave the EU and the Government’s Brexit plans are still uncertain, we’ve been working to ensure Cornwall remains in the strongest possible position to compete against the rest of the world as new trading opportunities emerge.
Now the colder weather has set in, help us to help you stay well this winter. If you’re pregnant, the parent of a two or three-year-old, or an adult with an underlying health condition, make sure you get your free flu vaccination. It’s free because you need it.
Do you know someone struggling to keep their house warm this winter? We’re working to lift 1,000 households out of fuel poverty by 2019 by helping with practical advice, grants and energy advice. Read more about our Winter Wellbeing programme or call Bev on 01872 326552 for free advice on how we can help make homes warmer and healthier.
More than 1,200 residents have already signed up to the Council’s anti-litter campaign to show their commitment to a cleaner, greener Cornwall.  If you haven’t yet, sign up here to join the #LitterlessCornwall movement.
Is your child due to start in reception or move up to junior school in September 2019You’ll need to apply for a place at your preferred school before 15 January 2019.
Are you an existing business or budding entrepreneur? Would you or someone you know like to hold exercises classes on one of Cornwall’s beautiful beaches? Run a gourmet food and drink van in a country park or overlooking a harbour? We have new pop up business sites available to lease. You can tender for an incredible range of locations from Penzance Promenade to Kit Hill. Money raised from the lease of these Council sites goes back into protecting and enhancing Cornwall’s unique natural environment.
Visit our news room to find out more about how we’re helping to boost Changing Place toilets, the creation of 3,500 extra care housing units across the county to help older people and those in need of care live independently, and the positive findings from an independent inspection of Cornwall’s multi-agency response to child sexual abuse in the home.
Have your say
One of our key priorities is to listen to and respond to your feedback and concerns. Current consultations we’re seeking your feedback on include our 2019/20 budget and the Safer Cornwall partnership plan.  Your views are important to us, so please do have your say!

Need to report a missed bin collection? Dog fouling? A pothole? Flytipping? You can make a report 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on our website.
