Public consultation on seasonal restrictions for dogs on beaches in Cornwall

Sep 2, 2019 | Parish News

Cornwall Council are consulting City, Town and Parish Councils, residents, beach owners and other interested parties about proposals for seasonal restrictions for dogs on beaches and are keen to hear your views.

Cornwall Council currently has 48 Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) that apply restrictions at certain times of the year for dogs on beaches across Cornwall.

The PSPOs have to be reviewed every three years. The existing PSPOs expire in April 2020, so we are asking for views before the new restrictions are drawn up.

The consultation is an online survey on Cornwall Council’s website www.cornwall.gov.uk/dogsonbeaches and runs until 19 November 2019. Information packs are available at libraries and Cornwall Council Information Services and offices, and there is assistance available at these locations for anyone who needs help to complete the questionnaire online.

Consultation responses will be presented to Cornwall Council’s Neighbourhoods Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

For further information, please see the supporting consultation material including a consultation pack, details of the current restrictions, a copy of the survey questionnaire, and FAQs.
