Cemetery – Connor Downs

The cemetery is currently open to visitors you must observe the Government guidance regarding social distancing and you are not permitted to use the cemetery if you are showing any of the possible symptoms or are feeling unwell.

Connor Downs Cemetery is a public cemetery.

The cemetery is adjacent to the allotment which is situated just outside of Connor Downs on Gwithian Road, TR27 5EA.  The cemetery is highlighted red on the map above.

Cemetery Fees

Fees/charges applicable from 2nd March 2022

The fees set out below apply where the person to be interred is a parishioner of the Parish or, in respect of a stillborn child, one or both parents are parishioners of the Parish. In those cases where the person is not a parishioner all the fees stated below, excluding Parts 3 and 5, shall be doubled.

A PARISHIONER will be defined as a person:

  1. normally resident within the Gwinear-Gwithian Parish Boundary
  2. normally resident within the Gwinear-Gwithian Parish boundary within FIVE years of the date of death
  3. who purchased the exclusive right to the grave space whilst a resident

Part 1 – Interment

The fees do not include the cost of digging graves.

i. Stillborn baby – £0 with option on exclusive rights
ii. Child under 16 years – £0 with option on exclusive rights
iii. Any person over the age of 16 years – £300 must purchase exclusive rights
iv. Subsequent interment in existing grave –  £200
v. Cremated remains – £150 must purchase exclusive rights

Part 2 – Exclusive Rights Of Burial

For the exclusive right of burial for 50 years in an earthen grave selected in rotation:

i. Site measuring nine feet by four feet – £450
ii. Site for cremated remains – £225

These fees are doubled for plots purchased out of rotation.

Part 3 – Monuments, Gravestones, Tablets & Inscriptions

All memorials to be approved by the Clerk and installed to conform to the GGPC Cemetery Regulations

i. Flat stone not exceeding 6′ 6″ x 2′ 6″ x 3″ – £80
ii. Headstone or cross not exceeding 4′ in height – £80
iii. Kerbstone or border stones – £100
iv. Any other monument approved by the Parish Council – £100
v. Additional inscription – £25

Please note: For a memorial of headstone and kerbstones, both fees are charged.

Part 4 – Scattering of cremated remains

Scattering of cremated remains within the cemetery. £25.00

Part 5 – Additional Services

  • Searching the registers Administration fee – £30 for every search per hour and part of hour
  • Administration fee – £30 per hour and part of hour to be paid on any item in Parts 1 to 4
  • Breach of cemetery regulations – £100
  • Any other works at the discretion of the Council – £30 per hour and part of hour
