I have lived in the Parish for about 2 years. For a short time I lived in Upton Towans and more recently I moved to Gwinear. I am married and have a teenage daughter so I am familiar with many of the issues affecting young people.
I have a lot of experience gained from working as a project manager and policy advisor in the civil service for 18 years and some of this included the planning system and buildings regulations, as an advisor to the Communities Department on environmental issues. In my final role I was working with Local Government on improving their efforts to tackle climate change when delivering their services in the community.
Being a lover of live music and theatre I was pleased to find that there was a wonderful venue for both these things less than a hundred yards from my home. I’m now vice chair of the management committee for the Hall for Gwinear, assisting with the running of events as well as planning and publicising the future programme. I can usually be found behind the bar or taking photographs of the performers. When not doing that I can usually be found on-line managing the Hall website or Facebook page.
I hope I bring all of this enthusiasm, energy and experience to the Parish council.
