Post Office support for isolating customers

Cash delivery payments are now available for Post Office card account claimants who are shielding at home because of the risk of infection should they leave their home. The Government is contacting the 27,000 POca customers who are shielding to ensure they are able to access their payments. When notified by Department for Work and Pensions of individuals who require a cash delivery, the Post Office will send cash to their home using Royal Mail Special Delivery, ensuring that it arrives by 9pm the following day.

The Post Office also has two cash access services for customers with bank accounts at any of the UK’s banks, building societies or credit unions:

  • Payout Now – a service where self-isolating customers can ask their bank to send them a voucher by SMS text, email or post and give it to a trusted individual to withdraw cash on their behalf.
  • Fast PACE – a pre-authorised cheque encashment service that allows a customer to arrange for a trusted individual to collect a cheque from them, cash it at the Post Office, and return with the cash
