Neighbourhood Priorities Statements

The Levelling-Up and Regeneration Act (LURA) 2023 introduced 'neighbourhood priorities statements'. A neighbourhood priorities statement is produced by a local council, in consultation with local residents. They will be less detailed and quicker to produce than a neighbourhood plan, typically taking 6 months to produce.

Gwinear-Gwithian Parish Council has approved to publicise its intention to create a neighbourhood priorities statement (NPS) for the parish of Gwinear-Gwithian.  You can view the map which identifies the area under the NPS by clicking the following link:- MAP OF AREA UNDER NPS

A neighbourhood priorities statement will help us to influence the next Cornwall Local Plan (CLP) and help you to have a say in how growth affects our area. Most places in Cornwall will need to build new homes in the period to 2050. This is your opportunity to help us tell Cornwall Council how growth can benefit our community.

You can visit this page for regular updates on the progress of the NPS.  In the meantime if you are interested in joining our NPS steering group we would welcome members of the public to help us shape the future of our parish, please contact the council at clerk@ggpc.org.uk for more information.  Alternatively if you would just like to be kept informed of information you can also email the clerk to go on our database for regular updates or visit this page.
