Officially Open!
The Elizabeth Sampson Playing Field (ESPF), in Connor Downs (soon to be renamed as Sampson Park) will be open for the general public to use from 3.30pm on Friday 6th February.
We would very much welcome you all to come and take a look and explore the equipment BUT due to the time of year and the horrendous weather we have had for, well what seems like forever, parts of the park are still going to be out of action whilst we allow the grass seed to grow and the mud to dry out.
Most notably the games area. I appreciate you will want to get stuck in with footy and other games but please please be patient and allow the grass time to grow or you will be playing games on mud forever.
There is lots of exciting new equipment and an awesome link path to ride on in the meantime (no electric or fuel powered transport such as e-bikes, e-scooters and motorbikes permitted please). Please also remember dogs are not permitted in the play park too.
Thank you for respecting other users and keeping them safe. See you all soon!
We would very much like to thank our grant providers who made this transformation possible, without the Community Capacity Fund, the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, allocated through Cornwall Council’s Community Levelling Up Programme which is part of the Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Good Growth Programme. The Gwinear-Gwithian Sustainability Fund (GGSCF), Connor Downs Residents Association (CDRA) and Gwinear-Gwithian Parish Council (GGPC) this project would not have been possible.
