Devon & Cornwall Police are inviting the public to Penzance Water Safety Day on Saturday 17 June from 12 – 5pm.
Joining Devon & Cornwall Police will be partners including RNLI Penlee Lifeboat Station Cornwall, HM Coastguard, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service Cornwall Council, National Coastwatch institution, RNLI events and water safety team along with the RNLI shop, Mor Swimmy and other local businesses.
Organised by Penzance Police and Safer Penzance, the event will be based on Penzance Promenade, opposite the Arcade, close to the junction with Alexandra Road.
Throughout the event, emergency service teams will be providing a ‘behind the scenes’ look at their kit including Police vehicles and more at the open-to-all free event.
The public can meet Blue Light teams responsible for keeping them safe, who will be sharing tips and information about how to be smart in the sea to enjoy the water safely.
Water demonstrations will be given by the Police Diving Team and the RNLI along with partners from 3 – 5 pm weather permitting.
